a grove of cedar trees
beset by stormy winds
kept me awake
the river below
sluggishly trundles along
slowed by heavy rains
Unaccountable quietude after weeks of fierce storms causes disquietude. It seems wrong not to hear the loud wind rustle the leaves down to the ground and causing large limbs drop down.
The heavy rains have disappeared and in some parts of the country they have been replaced by the first snow.
